‘ChairMech-Concept’

The ‘ChairMech-Concept’ (Int. Pat. Pend.) with the ‘ChairMech-Control’ designed and developed by IDEArchitects is a new seating control concept with a unique control mechanism that is very compact and discrete. Its unique geometry provides for a smooth, synchronised movement and gives enormous freedom in the design of contemporary office swivel chairs so far unavailable.

The INK-One Chair

Industrial designers Martin Kechayas and Christian Noergaard are behind this inspired and distinct design of the INK-One Chair - the first design to implement the unique geometric, ergonomic and mechanical advantages of the ‘ChairMech-Concept’. The aim has been to create a modern, iconic design free of afterthought add-ons without compromising in terms of comfort, ergonomics, or adjustability.  Due to the exceptional ‘ChairMech-Concept’ the elegant and coherent INK-One Chair is now a reality.

The compact control mechanism is contained within the minimal seat construction. The height adjustable, dynamic back has amble space between the shell and upholstery for flexible lumbar support, and an inset handle as a clever detail. The yoke and J-bar create a smooth, continuous band under the seat, and the arm rest support is a fully integrated part of the design.

IDEArchitects, Christian Noergaard, and Martin Kechayas have joined their talents and forces ambitiously aiming to design a new task chair icon, made possible by the unique design freedom and advantages of the new ‘ChairMech-Concept’.
